The Tetrahedron Mapping Series, Volume 1

This is a multipurpose animation pack designed on a repeating tetrahedron pattern and is intended to be used for video projection mapping on buildings, stages and other objects such as tetrahedrons.

This first video is a demonstration ofvideo projection mapping examples that can be created by playing these videos in Resolume Arena (vj & mapping software).

This pack now includes an additional 26 extra animations on top of the original 60 animations. The next video showcases these new animations mixed together.

This animation pack has been carefully designed to have multiple uses primarily for (but not limited to) video projection mapping.

The first use is for vjing,  software such as Resolume Arena allows you to play back and mix them live with your own content to create unlimited new variation.

The final output can then either be displayed on a projector or an LED wall. When using a projector it is possible to slice up the imagery and then map those slices onto a wide variety of different objects.

The simplest example would be a rectangle shaped screen typically behind a dj at a nightclub. A more advanced options would be to physically construct 3d tetrahedrons (pyramids) and then video projection map the animations onto them.

When using these animations in vjing software or linear compositing software such as After Effects the black and white animations have been designed primarily for masking other imagery while the colour animations can easily be layered over the top.

One example would be to take a photograph of the fascade of a building which you would use in vjing software with the black and white animations masking out sections of the photograph over time which create optical illusions that the building is de-materializing and then re-materializing.

Included in both versions of this pack are a bonus After Effects project file and Resolume Arena project file clearly demonstrating how to easily use these for masking and compositing with other footage.

If you have ever wanted to try video projection mapping then this animation pack combined with video projection mapping software is the perfect thing to get you started creating professional looking visuals shows quickly and easily .

This animation pack come in 2 different versions with different aspect ratios, the standard version is 16:9 and the ultra wide version is 23:9

1080P Version

16:9 Aspect Ratio

86 animations in total

Comprised of 44 individual tetrahedrons

1920x1080 Resolution (1080P) (Full HD)

Suitable for a single projector setup

Includes 3 copies of each animation in the following formats:

QuickTime DXV (with alpha channel)

QuickTime DXV3 (with alpha channel)

Quicktime HAP Alpha

Animations are in a 16:9 Ratio

Mapping Reference Images & Mapping Presets

Included are 10 free Resolume Arena 5 video projection mapping presets and corresponding mapping reference images,

The mapping reference images have been designed to be used during the video mapping process, predefined colour coded shapes including triangles rectangles and hexagons vastly simplify the mapping process by making it easy to keep track of larger shapes and the individual tetrahedrons.

The Resolume Arena 5 advanced output projection mapping presets have been designed to make the mapping process as quick and easy as possible.
Simply chose a preset and adjust the output transformations, this method halves the setup time and offers a wide range of flexibility for improvised situations.

Ultrawide Version

Includes all 80 animations and extras from the 1080P Deluxe Version and another 80 animations and extras in a wider aspect ratio format

23:9 Aspect Ratio

86 animations in total

10 video projection mapping presets for Resolume Arena 5 (as featured in the first video, and explained further below)

Resolume Arena Project file (as featured in the first video)

2802x1080 Resolusion

Suitable for a multiple projector setup

Comprised of 68 complete Tetrahedrons

Includes 3 copies of each animation in the following formats:

QuickTime DXV (with alpha channel)

QuickTime DXV3 (with alpha channel)

Quicktime HAP Alpha
